Geological and geotechnical surveys of public and industrial buildings

Geological and geotechnical surveys of public and industrial buildings are carried out during the construction of:

• Non-residential public buildings (libraries, hospitals, office buildings, etc.), industrial buildings (factories, hangars, warehouses, etc.); • Residential apartment buildings.

These surveys fall into the second category, and when dealing with complex structures or geological conditions, into the third geotechnical category. For this reason, the tests are more detailed and soil samples are taken for laboratory tests. If the structure falls into the third geotechnical category according to the structural complexity and engineering geological conditions, an engineering geological survey program is prepared.

Geological and geotechnical surveys of public buildings are performed by the following field survey methods:

• Screw and column drilling of wells • Sampling for laboratory testing • Cone penetrometer test (static probing CPT or CPTU, pore water pressure measurement) • Dynamic cone penetrometer (DP) testing (dynamic probing) • Laboratory testing of physical and mechanical soil properties.

After performing the geological surveys and analyzing the data, we will submit a report of the findings to the registered LGT.
